Zwakala River Retreat is situated on a private farm in the beautiful Magoebaskloof / Haenertsburg Mountains on the banks of the Broederstroom River – the source of the great Letaba. There is a variety of Magoebaskloof accommodation and private campsite to choose from.

Our wedding venue, Mina’s Art Café and Farm Venue, created out of the original farm house and shed, overlooking the valley with large old trees in the garden, is perfect for weddings, events and gatherings and is host to our quarterly Mina's Neighbourhood Market  with real food and cool music.

Zwakala Mountain Brewery, our charming craft brewery overlooks the Wolkberg Mountains and is one of the most scenic places to enjoy cold Zwakala craft beer and a gourmet burger in Magoebaskloof. For those not interested in Hops & Barley we have Blueberry Gin & Tonic on Tap, a popular favourite. Zwakala means "come closer" and this is exactly what happens here when friends and family gather to enjoy, talk and eat.

We offer fantastic walks and clearly marked cycling routes through forests and private farms in the area. Also trout fishing on the river and in the surrounding area, visits to other establishments such as Wegraakbosch Cheese Farm, the famous Cheerio Gardens and Sequoia Garden Retreat just up the road.
